GETTING STARTED
YOUR FIRST SCUBA CLASS.
Do I need previous scuba experience?
No prior scuba certification is required for Open Water. Tell Mike about your comfort in the water so he can help you prepare.
Do I need to know how to swim?
You will complete swimming and water-comfort assessments. Contact Mike before enrolling if you have concerns; he will explain the current course requirements.
What should I buy or bring?
Core scuba equipment is provided except your personal mask and snorkel. Ask about fit before buying. Mike will confirm swimwear, exposure protection, and other items for your sessions.
How long will training take?
Training includes knowledge development, confined-water practice, and open-water checkout dives. Request dates to discuss the schedule; progress depends on completing the required skills.
Can children enroll?
Age requirements depend on the program. Include the child’s age when requesting a class so Mike can confirm the appropriate program and parent or guardian paperwork.
What paperwork is required?
Medical screening and enrollment paperwork are required. Physician approval may be needed before water sessions. Request the current forms before your first session; please do not send medical details through this inquiry form.
What does the price include?
